Something To Think About

Another day, another … well, actually … I don’t have an exciting follow up to that. Today was another pretty lazy day. I have to say, I’m once again thoroughly enjoying my time in Philadelphia – even if it means not doing a whole lot of exciting activities – like changing flat tires, or hunting for accommodations as the sun disappears below the horizon.

My most exciting activity of the day was going to the dog park. No, that’s not code for anything. I went with my friend and the energy filled Portuguese Water Dog (aka. Tsunami) to try to tire out said puppy – even if just a little. I think it was somewhat successful as she seems a little calmer this evening than last night. I will resist the temptation to get her all worked up again. I tend to be a bad influence on dogs. I can’t help it. They’re so much fun.

Hmmmm ...

Hmmmm …

The rest of my afternoon was spent wandering around Philadelphia seeing some of the sights including Independence Hall, City Hall, and The Thinker. Oh, and another trip over to the Rocky steps. Side note, I just found out that there’s a proposal for a major remodelling of the Art Museum which would include a dramatic change to the Rocky steps. As you might expect, I don’t endorse such a plan. And as you also might expect, nobody’s asking for my opinion. For what it’s worth, apparently the idea to change the steps actually came from a Board Member and not the architect.

Tomorrow I’m going to be taking an official tour of Philadelphia so hopefully I’ll have more excitement to report. It’s funny, for the number of times I’ve been to Philly – and it’s a lot – I’ve never really done the tourist thing. That will change tomorrow. Until then, I’m off to watch Mythbusters.
