Lesson from Day One

I’ve always thought that there’s a time and a place for GPS devices. Turns out the time was today and the place was New Zealand – more specifically, the on-ramp to Hwy 1 which was clearly signed as a “no bicycles” road. Fortunately, one of my last minute purchases was a GPS device. I really didn’t expect to use it at all – and certainly not on Day One! Oh well, other than the navigational issues, the mild dehydration (I know, I know – drink more water!), and my legs aching with every step I take, I’d say today was a success.
