DAY XI – Still here

The Falcon 195

The Falcon 195

For starters, no I’m not dead.

Okay, now that we have that out of the way we can move onto more interesting things. The lack of updates isn’t because of a lack of activity but rather a lack of time – plus the days have been much the same. Flying.

Yesterday I did two more flights on the solo glider (Falcon 170) and then progressed to do my first cart launch – same concept except instead of the wheels being physically attached to the glider, the glider is placed on a cart which is eventually released during launch.

Not me FlyBoarding

The winds weren’t ideal in the morning and only got worse as the day went on so we had to find other things to do. We did. Cue the FlyBoarding. I’ll admit, I didn’t actually do said FlyBoarding. I wanted to but it’s a water thing and I know myself well enough to know that my head underwater is not a good idea. Of course, if you’re doing it right your head SHOULD be above the water. It’s the “doing it right” portion that was the problem. Anyway, it was fun to watch – maybe I’ll try it next time I’m here.

As for today, well, we currently have a bunch of people standing around looking at the clouds hoping they’ll pass on by and allow us to fly this morning. It’s not looking entirely promising.

And sadly, I think today will be my last day here at Quest Air, but it’s far too early in the day to contemplate such things. For now, I’m going out to look at clouds.
