Day Se7en

As I’m typing this I can hear the waves on the South Taranaki Bight. Originally I thought it was the Tasman Sea, but according to the map it’s the South Taranaki Bight. Either way, that would explain where today’s head wind was coming from! Fortunately, it was only the last couple of hours of the ride but still exhausting.

DSC00911The upside of today’s 120km ride was that it was primarily downhill. I’ve never experienced anything like it. There were maybe four big-ish climbs but the descents ruled the day. I even managed to keep my photo stops limited – I mean, how many pictures of sheep and cows do I REALLY need?!

I’m now at Himatangi Beach which is about 130km from Wellington, which is the goal for tomorrow.

On an unrelated topic, the bacon burger, wedges, and pineapple ring I had for supper were not un-tasty.
