A (Mostly) Sunny Week in Philadelphia Philadelphia, PA
Much of the week was spent reviewing and testing gear. And figuring out what we have and what we don’t have and then ordering the latter. Despite ALL the stuff we have, there were a few somewhat important items we didn’t. Amazon Prime’s one or two day delivery can be VERY handy sometimes.
At this point though, bags are packed with more than a bit of gear scattered between everyone’s belongings. I’m a little concerned about the drone surviving the potential abuse of checked baggage but we’re hoping for the best – we just have too much other stuff in our carry on bags to include the drone.Of course, it hasn’t been all work since I arrived here (and “work” would be in its loosest definition). When not sorting through gear, I’ve gone for a few walks – walking still isn’t my favourite mode of transportation but I like walking around here … or, I dislike it less anyway. I’ve had a few Philly cheesesteaks. Played with the dog. Fallen behind on my blog. Got caught up on my blog. Struggled to make ATM withdrawals (I’ll spare you the details but Scotiabank and/or Bank of America need to work on their technology and/or communication). And I’ve been out on the bike just once for a mere 16 km ride. No, I haven’t repaired the spoke yet – I figure that can wait until I get back from Africa (assuming I don’t get eaten by a lion or trampled by a rogue (or not-so-rogue) herd of wildebeests).
