What’s A Picture Worth? Morgan City, LA to Donaldsonville, LA
My planned destination for the day was Donaldsonville. Not because I wanted to go there. And not because it meant I would have a short day of riding. No. The main reason was that there weren’t a lot of other options. The next town with services of any sort would’ve meant a VERY long riding day and given the ever-present headwinds and the ever-shortening hours of daylight, I find myself forced into shorter days. I’m not saying that as a bad thing. Or a good thing. It’s just the reality of my current time, place, and direction of travel.

That’s the not-so-brief way of saying that I have no real recollection of any specific events of the day – well, other than the branded waffle I had for breakfast. I know that my photographic efforts have been more than a little lacking lately. Both in quantity and quality. Sadly, that’s unlikely to change for a few days. As a result, the next few updates will be the equivalent of several thousand words shorter than a photo-filled update.
What I do recall from the day was yet another headwind – although, not exceptionally so. Certainly manageable. And yes, there was a Subway stop before I left Morgan City.
Given the short riding day, I arrived in Donaldsonville well before dark where I once again opted for a motel. I mean, the whole point of doing freelance work while I travel is so that I can cover some of the costs along the way. And since I still have work to do, I figure I might as well do so in the moderate comfort of a motel. And so I did.
