Remotely Speaking

Just thought I’d do a rare morning update.

For those following along on Google Maps (or other maps) you may have noticed that the next part of the trek gets a little bit more remote. Ok, a lot more remote. It’s 223km from Sept-Îles to Havre-St-Pierre. Too much for one day. I’m not really sure how far or where I’ll make it today. Many of the small “towns” that appear on the map don’t have any commercial businesses or official accommodation sites so the next couple of days will have a bit of an element of surprise to them. The one thing I can be pretty sure of is that there will be no WiFi to be had. Maybe for a couple of days.

So, I’ll be heading out shortly. If you don’t see any real updates for the next couple of days it doesn’t mean I’ve been eaten by a bear or porcupine. It doesn’t mean I’ve been run off the road by a truck. It doesn’t mean I’ve fallen into a river and am living with the salmon. Although, I guess it COULD mean that.

Today’s definitely the day I take extra water! And food.
