Day Eight – Welcome to Wellington

Whew. I made it. Today was the longest so far – 132km. I got started early (7:30am) in an attempt to ensure a timely arrival in Wellington, which is exactly what happened. There were a few mild navigational issues as I faced a couple more “no bikes allowed” roads but I reached the hotel around 3:30pm.

DSC00973My early arrival gave me time to get settled a bit before heading over to Westpac Stadium for my first live Cricket game. Thanks to watching the game earlier in the week on TV (with Brad’s explanations of the rules) I figured out was going on. It was fun and interesting to watch although I got the impression that it wasn’t a very good game – especially for the home team. :(

It’s looking like tomorrow will have some more changes from the original “plan”. With all the changes so far I think it’s safe to say that the “original plan” has been abandoned… but I’m enjoying the changes so far :)
